PILES (HAEMORRHOIDS)

DEFINITIONS: Haemorrhoids (dilational venius) in relation to anus.

TYPES:

  1. Internal Hemorrhoids
  2. External Hemorrhoids
  3. Intero External Hemorrhoids

GRADE:

  1. Grade I Position 3,7,11’0 clock position
  2. Grade II
  3. Grade III
  4. Grade IV

Aetiology:

  1. Heriditary
  2. Morphological
  3. Anatomical causes.

SYMPTOMS:

  1. Bleeding: Bleeding is bright red and occurs during defecation.
  2. Prolapse: Prolapse of the piles mass in the anus during defecation.
  3. Discharge: A mucold discharge in present.
  4. Itching of anus: Itching present on & off.
  5. Pain: pain during defecation usually painless bleeding present.
  6. Anaemia – sometimes present

COMPICATION:

  1. Profuse bleeding
  2. strangulation
  3. thrombosis
  4. Ulceration
  5. gangrene

    TREARMENT:

  1. Non operative Treatment
    • Medicine
    • Ointment application
    • Sitz bath
    • Laxative
  2. Surgical Treatment:
    • Injection Treatment
    • Banding Treatment
    • cryo surgery
    • Laser Surgery
    • Open surgery method.
